The Tree House perfectly fit the bill for a short holiday in the Bay of Islands area. Aptly named, as it is nestled amongst the trees, the cozy house is private yet within walking distance of the town’s shops, restaurants, and passenger ferry terminal. Though I didn’t meet Garth, he was quick to respond and check-in was a breeze. I would stay here again!

We both had a lovely stay at the treehouse.
Will definitely recommend to others and would be on our list to come back to stay in again ourselves.
Highly recommend staying there, our host was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Perfect little spot just off the main road in Paihia. Quiet location, very comfortable bed, and everything else a traveler could need. Garth and Anne were very responsive and a pleasure to chat with. Would absolutely stay here again.

A bit of luxury
We stayed in the garden room at this venue, it was a lovely apartment of high quality, pleasantly situated in a beautiful garden with a distant sea view. within easy walk of the restaurants etc, friendly hosts too

We enjoyed a beautiful stay in this cosy retreat in the bush off King street near the centre of Paihia. The apartment is of a modern style, with tea and coffee, fresh milk etc provided and has a veranda looking out over the water where the adrenaline fuelled activities the Bay of Islands offers are happening. The gardens are exceptional with birds tweeting in the trees. It's an easy walk in to town (note though, it is up a steep hill driveway if you have an injury or something). It is quiet and private from the bustling main area (though note, the family live upstairs in their home so you are not in complete privacy if that's what you're going for). It seems like a safe area. Cafes are close. Lovely host. Overall pleasant stay.

We started our tour of the north with 4 nights in the Garden Suite & boy was that a great decision. Garth looked after us with some quality kiwi hospitality & was more than happy to give recommendations about what to see & do. The apartment is huge & has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Paihia. The garden setting is serene & as others have commented its great hearing the birds chirping away in the beautiful garden. We also liked the fact that you could walk down to a couple of bars within 3 minutes & the ferry to Russell along with a bunch of other restaurants was only 10 minutes walk from the apartment. Would highly recommend!!

A very spacious sunny room with a sea view, lovely gardens immediately outside the door (full of roses in June) Small, well equipped kitchen area. Ensuite bathroom with large shower and a washing machine. Great host. Highly recommended.

Okay this place was probably the best place we stayed on our while trip. It’s totally what it is described and the pictures don’t do it justice. Great people, very warming and helpful with knowledge of the area. The house itself was clean, presentable and the utilities was perfect. Shame we didn’t stay for longer, had 2 nights there. It’s a nice experience to stay in the trees around you.

We loved every single minute of our stay at the Tree House – even though we had one day when it rained from morning until night! But even that day was bearable in this cosy studio – and the other 3 days were just great! We loved the garden and the solitude in our little house. The Tree House comes equipped with everything you might need and you even get fresh towels every other day. Garth comes by every day to see if something is missing and is generally never far away if you need him. Great bed with a firm mattress and bathroom is very generous. Your luggage shouldn’t be too big or heavy, though – there are quite a few steep steps to climb up to the Tree House!

A little bit of heaven on earth.
Staying here amongst the trees, ferns and beautiful birdsong is bliss. A smart, spotlessly clean with comfortable bed and all amenities is highly recommended. A small slice of Heaven on Earth . View of Bay of Islands from sitting room and sun deck. Perfect and peaceful.

Fantastic views
The garden suite was fantastic, very comfortable king size bed and great shower. The view was magical, we could see bay from our bed each morning and the garden was beautiful and a great credit to the owner Garth. Very central to cafes, shops and the pier. Would highly recommend staying here.
